hi, i'm really interested in adopting a cat. but i remember that when i was a little kid cats made my eyes water so i always assumed i was allergic to cats. but just the other day i went over to my friend's house and played with his cat and i didn't have any allergic reactions at all. i had a lot of allergies as a kid and most of them disappeared with age (although i still can't eat watermelons and bananas.) so i was wondering if there is a way i can find out if i'm really allergic to cats or not. i'm serious about adopting but i wont adopt a cat unless i know i can take care of it. or is it recommended that i just find a hairless cat? thanks.

haha Well... I'm sure it'll be hard to find a hairless cat here. However, if you get a cat that has minimal shedding you should be fine. Spend more time with your friend's cat. If you're in Seoul there's a fantastic cat shelter... you could always spend some time there to see if your allergies flare up and at the same time maybe find a cat you love! :)

Hi there!
Be careful as some people are allergic to cats' saliva and not hair, so even if it is hairless, it will still lick itself....
But I agree, the best way to know is to get in there!
Why don't you visit the cat shelter in Seoul? I'm sure they won't mind if you help them clean a little... ;)
Good luck and I really hope you can adopt!
