What a Star!!

Jennifer and her husband, Chris, adopted little Star, a female puppy from Asan! The new family went home to Seoul on Jan. 16.

So Star ended up having Parvo. :( However we are working closely with a vet and it looks like she is going to pull through. There was a 90% chance of her dying without treatment. So we went for aggressive treatment including IV therapy and a doggie blood transfusion. In a few more days she should be good. She was great yesterday and I'm am headed back there now. Keep her in your prayers!

How is Star doing today?

From my husband's email updating our family...

dog is good. IV's are out and they have a water bowl in there. she only took 10 licks or so...will likely increase. they will feed her around noon today.

he said that he told us initially it takes 5-10 days to recover and that Star was very quick at only 4 days.

i think good news. we need to get her ready to come home. they said other shots will begin in 10 days or so.

StarGirl is coming home today! She had her IV's out yesterday and kept down her food and water. Our house has been completely bleached and cleaned top to bottom in anticipation.

How is she doing now?

Star loves to sleep, eat and chew on anything she is allowed to. She is a quick learner and has almost mastered Sit, Stay, Come, Potty, Leave It - seems to be her favorite as she is trying to figure out what is ok to chew on and what is not. She is doing excellent. :p

I would highly recommend our vet Bo Kang Animal Hospital on the same street as ChungWa Animal Hospital but further down - although they are not open 24 hours, they are open 7 days a week and their English is decent. Their care for Star was been exceptional.

Star is our baby girl and we post almost daily to our facebook account. I'm including some of her great poses here as well. Ok - so it will only allow one new pic right now. I'll try and post more later

She was born to be kissed and hugged every single minute :)
