I read Karen's idea about the girl scouts making posters for the dogs at the Daejeon shelter so I decided that I could have my students do it! Why not eh? I had my best student translate so every poster has both english and Korean on it. I just wanted to let you know what a success it was. The kids understood the urgency and need and they took it seriously. They also had a lot of fun making up names for the pictures of the dogs I printed off the recent post of the Daejeon dogs still at the shelter. Every poster also has this website on it (after I realized that there isn't any Korean on this site :( ) So we are posting them up together on Monday in our school area in Incheon and I will also post some up in other parts of the city!
My students had a good time so thanks for the idea Karen and hopefully it works!

Oh my god I want to cry, that is so awesome. I actually never thought about getting kids involved from their classrooms that way, but it is so terrific that you did. Thanks for sharing what you've done. It has already made an effect, even if we can't "track" exactly if the posters lead to an adoption, because you've taught your students that they can be part of the solution. I better stop before I get too sentimental here, but I think you are just super.:)
