Exporting Jindos

A couple of people have asked me this, but I don't know the answer:

Is it possible to bring a Jindo dog outside Korea, say if someone in the US wanted to adopt one? I heard that since they are designated "cultural asset #53", they cannot be exported. Is this true?

I still haven't found an answer to the exporting question, but I have found some info on where to get a Jindo in North America:

1) Jin-Sohl Jindo Dog Rescue is located in Southern California http://www.jindo-dog-rescue.org/ They have one really cute guy listed there right now, and may know of other rescuers in other parts of North America.

2) The Jindo Project http://www.jindoproject.org, also in California, but has listings for other parts of the country.

3) Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com/ (The Jindo Project listings are through Petfinder)
