Just an update.
Bibi just had her first Christmas and I have never seen a puppy so excited on Christmas morning. She even helped to unwrap her own presents.
Next year she will be in Canada with her brothers and sisters and waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy more snow than she'll be able to handle, she will certainly need a parka. She is such an outdoor kind of dog and she can really keep up. She has become so brave and confident in the last two months. She is not afraid of cars, highways, elevators or strangers anymore. She is house trainned and has all the basics down.
Bibi on Christmas Eve
Waitin for her walk
This is her big brother Oscar Meyer Weener
his sister Pandabear
Mozart....
and finally Poppit
All of them are rescues, some of them had rough lives. It makes me very happy to think that nice year they will all be together for Christmas.

She is still big on the kisses!
Do you know what her mum was? We figured she is chihuahua mix but she is getting so big now and her hair just keeps on growing. In some places it is as long as 4 inches and still growing. Oddly she still hasn't regrown the hair they shaved off her neck. It gives her a rather unique look:) We found some 'baby' pics of her in one of the old Daejeon posts, its horrible to think of her in that place or any of them for that matter. We're thinking of fostering next month when we get back from vacation. Do you know how far Daejeon is from Changwon? (we're an hour south of Busan)

Busan is about 1hr 45 from Daejeon by KTX, so if you take the hour trip from Changwon you would need almost 3 hours to get to Daejeon. I don't know about direct buses or trains between Daejeon and Changwon.

I'll take pictures of his parents soon,I promise. They are both very protective so
usually hard to get a good picture but I'll have treats ready;)
They are both mix breeds so Bibi has at least 4 kind of breeds in her.She looks like
her mom and and her dad:)
About her neck hair,it never has been shaved. Most pups who are born with lack of
nutricions (because the mom didn't get the vitamines she needed during pregnantcy)
they get that ''problem''
I have a foster right now with the same and I saw many dogs ion that condition.
Lucky that it makes Bibi looks special :)
Bibi is a very good quality dog because when we took her she was about 4months
old so she got plenty love from her mom and dad.
I wish more dogs had that chance. Many pups here are sold of 1month of age or 6weeks :(

awww...they are both still at the shelter that is heartbreaking! Did they come in together?
Bibi's foster mom had told me that her vet had shaved Bibi's neck because she had a rash, and that she was full grown and probably a chihuaha. I like the blad patch it adds character:) which is the best thing about a mutt in my humble opinion. It is so sad to see that picture.
What do you mean by protective exactly? Its horrible to think of them dying in a month:(

They are not only protective, trust me...We tried to sterilize the dad, but couldn't get anywhere close (and be safe). We understood that Bibi's parents are the shelter manager's sister's and that she breeds them...Sad thing really. The mom is chained, and we can only throw some treats in there.
I don't know what will happen to them in February...They are a trickier case really.

Maybe if they "belong" to the sister she will keep them as her guard dogs, or move them to a nearby farm? Still not a great life, though. That's very sad she lets them breed all the time, with the 140+ dogs right there can't she SEE the problem??? GRRR. And Annie, it sounds like you guys could have used a tranquilizer gun, holy crap.
Anyway, this just highlights how lucky Bibi is to have gotten your (collective) help and now have a family and fleecies and all :)

Here are the pictures I promised. This is Bibi's previous ''hometown''
His parents hate people but they were really sweet for their pups.
I think that this part of the land belongs to the house so the goverment
might leave them there.
Cute hm? :D:D

That's really too bad. We were thinking of fostering them. I can really see Bibi in them though, she is getting her mom's hairdo:)
What a shame, I'll never understand why people don't spend a few bucks to get their dog fixed. Aside from animal control it makes for
much calmer animals. No excuse for it, especially when it is so cheap here (at least compared to Canada).
Does Bibi have any brothers or sisters still at the shelter?

When we got there the first time we noticed the 3puppies living in that doghouse.
The women explained that Devi and Deva were from the''bigger mom'' and Bibi
from the smaller doggy.
When I asked where the rest of the litter was,she said that Bibi was the only
surviver of the litter of 3puppies.
yesterday a nice couple (Daniel and girlfriend) adopted Bibi's sister from a recent
litter,she looks like Bibi :)

I don't think getting dogs fixed is cheaper... My vet told me it will be 450,000w to get Louise fixed. My sister had her dog fixed at home for $50 so I'm just waiting until I get Louise back to the States.
And Bibi looks like she has papillion in her as well.

Wow! I got Bibi fixed for 200,000w (and she was in heat which made it more expensive) including meds, and follow ups. Back home it is min. $80.00 for a vet to even look at my dog, $100.00 for the opp and then at least $250.00 in related expenses. They even charge to take the stitches out. I got a price for a male dog from my vet here as well he said it is 30,000w for the opp and 60,000w for pre-opp testing/meds.

Wow that's crazy. I haven't had to go through Louise being in heat yet... thankfully... But I'll just buy the puppy diaper things for her. I don't have 450,000w for that. And I know the place my sister went to is okay... her dog healed fine.

She was worn out, fell asleep with her legs straight up in the air and stayed that way all night.
I don't know what is so fascinating about their dad, but they can't stop staring...
