Best airlines to travel with

I would like to take my dog back to the states with me over my summer break since I don't have anyone here to watch her. She's on the border line of going in cabin or checked baggage. She's a bit on the chubby side so probably checked unless she goes on a bit of a diet. I know there have been some discussions on how to do it but I want to know what are the best airlines for traveling with dogs?
