Customs requirements:
1) Proove that the pets have been with their owners longer than 1 year. ( Pets under 12 months have to pay VAT ( Tax) at anytime )
2) Shipments of 5 animals and more are considered commercial shipments by customs and therefore need to pay VAT .
So it is very good to split them up in two shipments.
Veterinarian Requirements :
1) Microchip or readable tatoo
2) Valid Rabies vaccination.
3) Rabies Anti body test ( RNATT ). Done at least after 30 days of giving the rabies vaccination for the first time . When rabies vaccinations have been given for more then ones you can go head and do the blood test immediatelly.
4) Good results for the Titre test and a 3 months waiting period from the date the is blood drawn.
5) EU health certificate per animal . Endorsed by your goverment state veterinarian service.

Addition to the information:
You have to prepare very well when you go to Europe with your pet.
About 4months before traveling you have to take your pet to your
local vet where they can sent ''blood serum'' to the Laboratorium
recognized by the European Union. (for Rabies test)
That cost 100.000won per animal excl the taekbae (fast mail)
When your pet is test positive you can start traveling any time after
3months when the serum was taken.

4 months, huh? I leave in March, so that'll be in about 4 months, which means I gotta get started with the process. I've got a question. By March I will have Belgi for just half a year, not 12 months like you said is required. Ummm, does that mean I'll have to have a *chat* with his vet about that?

Yes, talk to your vet about that. You and Belgi had a "psychic bond" for over a year, so you just need the vet to make the paperwork corroborate that ;)

Damn. I wrote a nice thank you and now it's gone. Anyway, magically I've had Belgi since 2006 ;) He also had his microchip implanted and his rabies shot (wasn't able to do it before since he was ill) and now have to wait 30 days to send blood serum for the RNATT test and we'll be set to leave mid-March! Belgi's going to Belgie!
Thanks for ze help!

Lucky Belgi, though beer and chocolate, Belgium's greatest gifts to civilization, are not good for dogs, so he'll just have to watch you enjoy them.
I'm glad you were able to work out the paperwork. Congratulations!

Great! I'm still looking for an apartment there. It's a bit difficult finding a place that allows dogs (so I've heard). I read that one of the main reasons dogs end up in shelters, in Belgium, is for this reason. So sad.

I am not sure about the reason, because if that is true then people should
not buy a dog. I'll find out and let you know.

Oh by the way-you could work in Belgium and live in south Holland, its cheap
and dogfriendly :)

My friend is helping me find a place there and it just seems impossible. Thus far he's received responses from two real estate agencies stating that none of their apartments allow dogs. I am looking into living in one particular city, so perhaps I shouldn't be so picky about it. :*(
Two years ago I stayed at a castle on the beach in The Netherlands. It was beautiful, but living in a remote area like that is not a good idea, job wise.
