Hello,

There's nothing more I like to do than to take the dog on a walk on a Sunday afternoon, go to a cafe or bar and just relax the day away... However, some bars, cafes and restaurants aren't to fond of folks who bring their dogs... many turn you away or make you tie up your dog somewhere outside... So I wanted to collect a list of places where dogs are welcome...

Itaewon:
1. Nashvilles - They have a terrace that's great on a sunny day... however, they don't let you bring the dog inside their bar... just the terrace (which is good enough) great views
2. Starbux (next to the police station in front of Hamilton Hotel) - They will let you bring your dog as long as you can carry it and keep it off the floor.... I usually take my doggy tote and keep him in there... I find that not all Starbucks have the same policies...
3. La Cigale - They let you keep your dog in the patio on the floor... not allowed inside or on their chairs...
4. Rocky Mountain Tavern - As long as it's not too crowded and the doggy stays off the tables... I've only taken my dog there for brunch... so I'm not sure what their policies are like during drinking hours ;)
5. Burger King - They're pretty much in some weird bank lobby now... just keep your dog in the lobby area...
6. Bungalow - Downstairs patio area and around the downstairs bar only....
7. Three Alley Pub - They only have 3 tables outside... so if you're lucky, you might find a spot... but the staff there love dogs... and are kind enough to bring your doggy water and snacks.... however, they're not allowed inside.... :(

That's all I can think of at the moment... I live walking distance from Itaewon... so my places are limited to there.... Please share if you have any more places we can go!!!

Thanks,

J~

I never went to Seoul with my dogs but here in Daejeon a Chicken soup
place (Korean restaurant) let me bring my dog in a carrier.
I went inside MC Donalds in Andong, Daegu or (Daejeon where i live) and
so far,no problems. I even let my dog sit on a chair ;)
But never to a bar because i hate bars anyway since i hate smoky places.
Plus that my dogs hate loud music.Though i am sure you can go to every bar
who has seats outdoors.

Hi, I heard about this place a few years ago, but at the time I didn't care to go because it sounded very gimmicky and I wondered if the dogs had been obtained ethically. I read recently, however, that the owners were involved in dog rescue and that the original canine residents were rescued. That kind of made me want to drop by and see the place some time:

Has anyone been there? Has anyone spoken to the owners to see what kind of rescue work they may be doing?

I went to a place similar to Cafe Bauhause in Hongdae... Don't remember the name. It seemed to be a place for owners to drop their dogs off while they were at work. They were kept in open pins and the dogs rotated out to wander around. Customers come in and order coffee and beer (and some food) and play with the dogs...

Well, I'd prefer to support a business that has some sort of connection to animal rescue. I wonder if this cafe is a place where people can post notices about animals in need? Or if the owners would be open to providing information about adoptable animals on TV monitors, or computer terminals or something like that? These ideas have occurred to me before, but the language barrier has been quite an obstacle ... in any case, I guess I should visit the place one of these days and check it out.

I don't know of any connections either has. And to be honest, finding one like what you're looking for is probably going to be near impossible to find here.

Update: I had a cup of tea there yesterday and only a few of the dogs were rescued. Most were from breeders.

I wanted to bump this in case someone had any new places I could try out... the weather is getting really nice and I would love to find another nice bar or cafe...

The Austrian restaurant across from Hamilton, above TACO, also has a nice terrace and they don't seem to mind that we bring Hobbes..

That's the only new place I've discovered so far~
