I just met this little schitszu tonight but don't have the story on her yet. She's small but a little fat, has a haircut, but her nails are very long. She's a very sweet doggy but shy. Not overly friendly but she loves attention. My guess is she's about 10 yrs old.

Plz call Macro Vet Clinic @ 042-486-3375

(I don't always hear if anyone has adopted these animals. If you do, plz let us know on this thread. Thnx)

If you are in Daejeon and know where Macro is, this little girl would love a visit. She's so lonely and looks like she belonged to someone for a long time. :(

I wish I knew how to get her home. Does anyone know how to start a website for lost dogs?

Oh my! that shih tzu looks just like mine, except that mine is blind. Where did you find her? Have you tried posting leaflets with her picture around the place where you found her?

Is your dog here? But this one is not blind. I was there last night and they have some lost dog posters in the office. I checked on one shitszu but it wasn't the one in the poster. We don't have a system yet of posting found dogs as far as I know. Do shelters do that? Maybe not, but it really should be done. I have just recently started posting these dogs at their clinic.

We're checking on another poster of a cocker spaniel that looks just like the one that got fostered yesterday from the Daejeon shelter. (Dr. Um said all dogs look alike but only the owner would recognize him.) Someone told me that couldn't possibly be the same cocker because that cocker had been tied and had rope burns and the person who sold it for 50,000 won to Ms. Jung was going to eat it.

But what if the dog was lost and then got tied up by the evil dog-eating monster:mad:? Possible, right? So if someone even THINKS it might be the same dog, and if it were YOUR dog, wouldn't you want someone to follow even the slightest hunch??? (She has looked at the spaniel on YouTube and says it does look like hers. She wants a better look at more pictures and wants us to continue to search. She has also offered 200,000 won reward so that's definitely not the person who sold the dog.)

99.9% chance it's NOT the same dog....but I have to follow my hunches or I will live with the guilt.

They were all found in Daejeon around Dunsan dong or Wolpyeong dong.

yes, mine is here. She's sleeping in the bedroom now. Yes, I'd hate it if I lost my dog somehow and somebody else end up eating her...oh my ...just thinkin about it makes me sick!
I had somebody actually came to me while I was walking Goldie, my poodle, and told me that he wants to eat Goldie. I was shocked and thought he must be joking but then realized he wasn't joking!
Do you think the day will come when they'll stop eating dogs here in Korea?
Anyway, yesterday after reading your posting I was actually tried to look whether they have Korean websites for lost pets but ended up with bunch of websites where they sell dogs!

They actually do. When I rescued Lhasa, my Korean friend looked them up to make sure she wasn't looked for.
Also, every local pound has a website where they post the animals they found. They only keep them 10 days, so it's up to the owner to put in as much effort as possible to find their pet.

As long as enough people see it as part of their traditional culture, I doubt it will go away entirely. They also eat dogs in The Philippines and China.

When the message of love doesn't come through, I try to teach my students about the diseases and parasites dogs carry. And then show them the disgusting filth of the dog markets.

The little shitszu is becoming more frightened and defensive.:(

Has this pup found a home yet? Hope so!

I'm so sorry to report that she and the maltese were euthanized a few days ago. I have dreaded making the report. :( The Seo-gu gov't workers came and got them.

I need to go back to my old "urgent" notices...or maybe the timing was just right for the others I was able to rehome.

I know. She was a bit older and fat but my first sheltie was eventually old and fat and everyone laughed and said she looked like an opossum. She was a blue merle so yeah, she was grey like an opossum with a skinny nose.

And the maltese was bigger than usual but he was so friendly and sweet. If anyone had just had a chance to see him, they would have taken him.
