Near myongdong, in Seoul,there is an entire street filled up with pet shops, full of very young puppies and kittens.There are hundreds of them.Someone told me ,these puppies might come from russian puppy mills.Anyway they are just as expensive as in Hollywood,the price for a kittten is 1000 000wons,or about 1000 usdollars...My question is what happens to these babies if they are not sold ,as no older dog is ever being shown in these windows...

I heard that they rather kill them than sell them for cheaper or giving them
away. They breed them here as almost every pet owner is a breeder.
The Emart vet in Andong is a cat breeder (excotic,short hair persian)
One cat is between 700.000 and a million won and people do buy them, breed
them and sell them at places like there in Seoul.
I asked a women who bought a cat there why is would not spay her cat
and she said that she wanted some money back that she has spent on buying
this expensive cat.The only way is breeding.
Most of these kind of ''petlovers'' think that way :(

yeah.. Koreans love pure breeds.. people often ask me why I raise a mutt...

The breeding has nothing to do with what they like,there are many pure breeds
in killing shelters and I have rescued plenty of the streets.

no they arnt brought from russian puppy mills as a matter of fact when i use to go to a grooming institute for dogs they brought all the dogs from KOREAN puppy mills hours away from seoul... because of the conditin that the were in thier paws and the paddings under them were VERRYYYY bad... they paddings were LITTERALLY stuk together... it was sad and hard so i later quit that hakwon it made me so mad to learn about this kind of stuff........
