To post a donation request on ARK, please see the post How to Write a Blog Post on ARK and select "Donation Requests" as your category.
In addition to the general site rules, please follow these guidelines for posting donation requests:
- Do not request donations for personal pets, that is, animals who have already been adopted and have a home.
- Post only one blog entry per animal or cause-- edit your original post or add comments to share additional information.
- Please keep us informed about the status of the cause or animal in need, whether or not you've met your fundraising goal. Threads with old information lose interest and get fewer views. The lack of transparency may negatively affect people's trust in your request and, by association, other donation requests on ARK as well.
- Include all of the following information:
- Rescue story or cause
- Fundraising goal
- Treatments given and/or needed
- Itemized costs
- Animal's current location
- Contact information
- 1 Photo (more can be added in comments)
- Link to the animal's adoption listing OR
- Estimated time it will take for the animal to be healthy enough to be listed for adoption
- Updates or "progress reports" (posted as comments or within the main post)
- When your goal has been reached, edit your post and select "Thank You" as the category. This will move your post out of the Requests section and save that space for animals in need.
Disclaimer:
The ARK website is not an official organization and does not collect donations or allocate funds. The use of ARK to request donations is a courtesy service to enable independent rescuers and shelter volunteers to solicit help for animals in need. The claims posted here are not verified by ARK. Please contact the author of the donation request directly if you would like to see copies of receipts, vet bills, etc.
Thank you!
