I had Otto out for a walk on the weekend. What a great dog! He would definitely settle into a new home life easily.

I walked Otto today and we had a lovely time. He is a very energetic boy with lots of love to give! He has such a sweet face-he's a really beautiful dog!

So happy that Otto has moved to his new foster home! Can't wait to hear how he is doing and to see some pics :) Thanks Julie!

Otto is settling in nicely and gets on well with our other dogs. He had his first trip to the vets last week and has slight chest & tummy infections for which he's now on medication. Nothing serious. He'll be back at the vets next week.
He's a bit underweight - 4.1kg should be 5kg - but he has a good appetite so that's not a problem.
He'll be starting his injections in a week or so when his infections have cleared up and he's gained a bit of weight

linhorobin's picture

Otto is such a wonderful fellow! It's so great that you took him out of the shelter before his infections could become serious problems- Thank you!

clare_bell's picture

What a cutie-pie! Thanks for taking him home!

julieoates's picture

Otto is a Maltese mix (we think). He's such a cute , friendly & happy little dog. He's now pee-pad trained which is good for us as we live on the 17th floor. He's also happy to 'go' outside. His chest/tummy infections have now cleared up & he had his first shots last week.

Sofia's picture

He looks amazing!

julieoates's picture

Little Otto went to the vets last week for his shots. He will need a booster shot next year. We had a chat about him being a pure bred Maltese and the vet thinks that he could be. No matter what, he is a loving and loyal little friend. He had a bath last night without any problems and will have his tick/flee treatment tonight.
He still needs some work on leash training but that is a little difficult as we have three dogs and so can't give him much one-on-one training. But I think in no time at all he would be fine in his forever home. We would happily keep him ourselves but we already have Gracie & Bracken.

Bath time for Otto last night and I think he looks great. He is still waiting for his forever home to which he can give all his love and affection.

He is so gorgeous!!!
Thank you for taking care of Otto ~

Super handsome!

We are still looking for a pet-sitter for Otto for the first 2 weeks of April. Please email me if you are interested.

julieoates's picture

Otto was very happy yesterday he had four walks with his friends and then a good bath to clean him up.
He received Advocate after his bath.

Sofia's picture

OH.MY.GOD! Those pictures are fantastic!

linhorobin's picture

Hi Julie- I might be able to help with the dog-sitting... Does Otto bark much? I'm kinda paranoid about barky dogs in the apartment because of all the landlord horror stories I've heard! Also, is he fixed? I have an unaltered female foster at this time. Please let me know! Thanks! And yes, those pictures ARE fantastic!! Thanks for taking such great care of all of your pups!!

julieoates's picture

Hi,
Otto is fixed. He doesn't bark much but like most dogs, he barks when someone comes to the door. We have similar barking restrictions where we live & have never had any complaints. If you did decide to dog-sit and found he was a problem, you could take him to Chung Wha kennels at our expense. That's where Gracie & Bracken (his buddies) will be. Just let me know what you'd like to do & we can arrange something. Whatever you decide, thanks for your kind offer.

Hi! I was wondering if I could meet Otto? I have kept up with this website for several months and have followed Otto's progress for a while now--pretty much because I know I would love him. Ha! I would love to pick your brain as a dog owner in Korea as well.

julieoates's picture

Hi Katie,
I'm sure that Otto would love to meet you. Can you email me and we can arrange when and where?
Julie

julieoates's picture

Many thanks for the kind offers to pet sit but we couldn't work out the logistics.
So Otto will be going with his friends to stay at Chung Wha tomorrow for two weeks. If you would like to meet him please call Chung Wha on (02) 792 7602. I am sure he would be very happy to see you.

julieoates's picture

Otto returned from his Chung Wha vacation with a nice Summer haircut. He seemed happy that we were back. He still needs more leash training but we're working on that. Still looking for a family to call his own.

julieoates's picture

Poor Otto. Still waiting for a forever home.

Julie, Will you please call me regarding Otto? I have a potential adopter, who is a referral from Dr. Oh at Chungwha. My name is Nancy, cell is 010-8210-9876. Thank you.

julieoates's picture

Nancy,
I spoke to the potential adopter but he's already found a Maltese puppy. But thanks, anyway.

Otto keeping warm after his bath. He will be going to stay with Susan for a few weeks as family business means that I have to go home.

Susan's picture

Otto is doing great! He is a happy, healthy little man.
He had a short stay with a potential adoptive family, but it did not work out for all concerned. He was hiding from their little boy, which was too bad because the little boy is a well-behaved little boy. Based on the description received from the family, it was as if Otto acted depressed when the Mom was gone, hiding from everyone, but as soon as she got home he acted normal again. The family was heartbroken that it did not work out for all of them but understood that Otto's best interest had to be the main concern.
He is doing well with my Maltese and seems happy all the time with us (me and his 'official' foster family :-) ).
There are two inquiries pending the adoption paperwork, so hopefully one of them is his forever family. I will keep you posted as things develop either through this website or through Sofia.
