Description:

Update 2014-02-17: Miru was adopted yesterday! Congrats to her and her new family!!! She will need some work on how to not chew up and tear furniture and flooring, as well as being able to walk on a leash, and to not shy away from people as much as she does.

Update 2014-02-10: Miru was shown a lot of interest over the weekend during an event that took place where she is currently staying at. She is quite the shy little girl. Almost all of her pups have been adopted, there is just one remaining who has been spoken for and just awaiting for pick up. So, now all that remains is for someone to take this girl into their home. There is no doubt in my mind that once you break the hard shell of this girl, she will show never-ending love and loyalty. She will need to be trained from scratch as she has only experienced life on the streets and now life in an animal hospital.

Update 2014-01-26: Miru is still up for adoption. She will need work to build trust and loyalty to return the love to her future adopter(s). One thing of note is that she reacts very well to treats! She is still very cautious around people and approaches slowly, but will come up to take a treat from our hands. Miru also still cares for her pups who are remaining at Smallville (Pegi and Gemi, who will hopefully get adopted soon). When we put the pups out on the lose within the cafe area today, she would kiss them and try to gather them back into their play pen. She is very caring and once you break the ice with her, we believe she will be very loving and loyal. Please consider this beautiful girl, and bring her into your warm home! She deserves to start this new year off with a fresh new beginning!

Update 2014-01-13: Three of Miru's pups have already been adopted. One of them (Gemi) is pending adoption, and the other three are still up for adoption. Miru is a very sweet girl. She has warmed up a little bit to us, but she is still very shy. She is not aggresive at all in any way, but she just avoids people whenever possible. This is the reason why she was able to survive on her own for however long she was homeless outside in the Yong-in area, and take care of her young pups! She is a survivor. Please consider this lovely lady into your home! She is beautiful and needs someone to show her how good life could be.

Update 2013-12-30: Miru's pups have all found forever homes and are pending adoptions once they are old enough to leave the comfort of Smallville. Unfortunately, the lovely Miru is still available for adoption! She is a very shy little girl, weighing just a little over 8 kg. She is very pretty and not aggressive, but just very passive and avoids most strangers. This is the cause of being a stray animal living on the streets. Apparently, the neighborhood she was rescued from had good people (like those who actually rescued her and her pups), and those that threw water at her to chase her away. There are also meat-marketting patrols that frequently patrol that area to catch stray dogs. Anyway, please consider this lovely little lady to be a great addition to your home and family.

Update 2013-12-26: Miru is almost done with nursing her seven pups. She has even stopped cleaning up after the pups. We have updated a new photo of her sporting the "Adopt me & I will love you forever" bandana. She really is a beautiful pup herself (about 2 years old). She is still a bit shy, but no sign of aggression towards people. She does bark at other hyper dogs that go towards her pups; but that is just her protective, motherly instincts. Please consider Miru as a new addition into your life!

Update 2013-12-17: Miru is still at Smallville waiting for someone for her furever family. She is still doing very well taking care of her seven young pups at Smallville. Note: Because we are helping Smallville get these little guys adopted, we do not have 100% control but we will help screen and aide in the process as much as possible.

2013-12-15: Miru was a local homeless dog in Yong-in (Kyeong-gi-do) who the neighborhood said was always friendly. A few weeks ago, she was found to have a litter of seven puppies in a garage. A Korean animal rescue activist rescued her and the pups from the cold garage, and brought her to Smallville in Seoul, Dongjak-gu, Heuksuk-dong.

She is a bit cautious with visitors, but is very loving and motherly to her pups. The Vets and Techs at Smallville say that she eats well and has warmed up to them since Miru has noticed that they will not harm her or her pups, and they feed her well. She looks to be a mix between a beagle and spitz, and weighs about 8 kg.
