Update: 4 Oct 2013
Sweet little man Mushroom was adopted a week ago and is settling into his new home very well! His new parents say this about him:

We renamed him Stanley. We think the name fits his look and personality. It's been great to have him. And Stanley has absolutely been a good gentleman.

We are still training to pee and poop outside when we are walking him. And he is doing better, considering that he peed in our bed twice yesterday. (*first day*)
He usually does his business very fast during his walk, which is great.

We have also bought him a crate, a bed, some toys, and some fences for the personal space for Stanley. He learned to sleep in his own bed the first night. And he has been good in the fences during day time while we are away. Haven't trained him with the crate yet, but will do that soon.

We took Stanley to the vet last Sunday. He is all good, skin is good, no fleas, good weight, eating regularly, does his business regularly. His teeth are all fine too.

What an awesome little family! My heart melts when parents are so understanding of their doggy. They didn't bat an eyelid at the fact that Stanley peed on their bed...why? Because dogs get stressed too, and all they need is patience, love and positive reinforcement.

Thank you to Kristina & her family for being such wonderful foster parents to this little guy, and massive thanks to his new parents. I wish you all the happiness in the world!

Update: 18 August 2013
Prepare yourselves...Mushroom has had a haircut and OH MY WORD if it isn't the cutest thing ever!!!

Here is what his foster mom has to say about him (***please note that this is a few weeks late as I've been away on holiday so there will be a newer update to come shortly):

Mushroom is doing great! He had some worms a week ago but we got him on some treatment and now he is better!

He is a very energetic pup and loves chewing on the bottom of my shorts when I walk. He also loves chewing on undies but we try to keep those out of reach. He has a couple bones that he loves tearing apart and he also has a couple soft chew toys he plays with. He loves greeting us right away when we come home and he cries a bit when we leave but not too much. He is getting along with the cats better; he tries to play with them constantly which they allow sometimes. He is extremely smart and learns tricks very easily (like paw for example). He is very sweet and loving towards people! He follows me everywhere even to the bathroom, its really cute!! He likes to sleep on the bed with me at night and on the couch during the day. He also loves the air conditioner!

He is still not potty trained but he is learning. At night he is good but during the day he has accidents. I take him out 3 or 4 times a day and he will hold his poop until then. If you bring him in the bathroom and wait a few minutes he will pee on his pee pad but he wont without you there. He does pee on newspapers though if they are around when he has to go.

He is such a cutie and now that he has had a haircut you can see his big beautiful eyes! He is a genuinely wonderful and loving little guy!

Update: 31 July 2013
Mushroom has gone into foster care with a wonderful family who reports that he is doing very well! I will update more as soon as I can. :) Yay Mushroom!

Update: 16 July 2013
Mushroom is being boarded at the vet to get some more meat on his bones and to get his initial vaccinations. He is otherwise healthy!

Update: 8 July 2013
Darn it!! Mushroom's emergency foster mom's landlord has said "NO DOGS". Mushroom is healthy but has nowhere to go as of tomorrow! Please, please open your home to this little guy. His current foster home says this about him:

He is so frikkin cute & damn intelligent too! He is eating well & has been pooping on the balcony only (as he has not been allowed to go on walks).

Today I will fetch Mushroom from his temp. foster home & take him to the vet for another full checkup. He will sleep at the vet's rooms tonight but after that he has nowhere to go. Please take this small, sweet, cute little boy into your home!

Update: 5 July 2013
Mushroom is doing well in foster care! He is a bundle of puppy-energy & makes his foster mom laugh all the time! She is still closely monitoring him for signs of parvo, so he does not go out on walks and has still not had a bath. (As per vet's orders). Check out the latest, CUTEST photos of him posing for the camera in the comments section below.

Meet Mushroom!

This little bundle of fuzz was rescued from the Asan City Shelter along with 4 other dogs. He was due to be put to sleep the day after! He then went to Asan Shelter where he stole the hearts of all the volunteers with his sweet face and wiggly body.

He is around 6 months of age and is one of the cutest little pups ever! He went into emergency foster care & had a full health check because he had a bit of diarrhea & we were concerned about the recent parvo case.

Health Status:
1. Heartworm negative.
2. Campylobacter infection (intestinal) & is being treated with antibiotics.
3. Roundworms - he is being treated to kill these nasties.
4. Underweight.
5. Ears are good.
6. Not yet neutered.
7. Antibody test was done. Parvo antibodies were high while all others were low...this suggests that he has exposed to parvo. :( We are closely monitoring him in his foster home. After this weekend, if he does not develop symptoms, he will be given the all-clear & be able to start his vaccinations.

For more info on this little bundle, please e-mail me (contact details below).

Thank you to Mushroom's foster mom for opening her home to a little boy in need!

Tatiana and I got a quick look at Mushroom on Saturday before leaving. What a cute and friendly little guy. Mushroom just needs some time to get healthy and I am sure he will make a terrific pet. I'm afraid these photos do not do justice to just how sweet he really is, but he would not hold still for his photo op!

He is so adorable! He seems so happy, too! :)

Oh goodness! There is no cuter dog!! He'll be snatched up quickly!! His profile says he still needs a foster home - is his current foster only temporary?

clare_bell's picture

Thanks for asking! Mushroom's foster mom took him as an emergency foster because of the suspected parvo. She has since had confirmation from her landlord that dogs are not allowed so she cannot keep him long-term. Currently, because we are still trying to establish whether or not he has parvo, he has not been out of the house AT ALL so no one knows he is there... He will be needing a new foster in the very near future though!

What happened to mushroom?! Did you find a place for him?

clare_bell's picture

No Marla, he is being boarded at the vet because I don't have it in me to take him back to the shelter. :( Time is ticking though!

You are awesome, Clare! Thanks for that!! :)
