Description:

Hi there ya'all this is Pippi! I found this little girl last week when I was taking the trash out before work. The poor thing was shivering with cold and wet after a really cold and rainy night, and its not surprising that after I took her to the vet she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Currently she is on some antibiotics for her pneumonia and that will be cleared up in a few weeks easy peasy. I found her on the 24th of April and every day she gets more and more energy and she's starting to act like the puppy she is. The vet has estimated her to be 4 months old, and she is just cute as a button. Now when it comes to potty training....well I'm a crazy cat lady so I'm lost in that department, but thankfully Pippi is one smart cookie. Pippi was able to figure out where she should go potty (near my drain in my laundry room) and once I bought pee pads she has been using them pretty well.

Soo....anyone interested in this ADORABLE puppy? She really is cute as a button and is named after Pippi Longstocking.

Update 5/8: Pippi went to the vet a few days ago and her cough is virtually gone and will only need her antibiotics for a couple more weeks until she's at 100%. She is really super cute, the only time I ever hear her make a noise is when my cats get too close to her gate. Pippi is just fine when she is in the main room with the cats, but she is territorial over her area in the laundry room. The laundry room is her safe place which leads me to believe that she will be fairly easy to crate train. So who's interested?

5/12 Update: Seriously there has been no interest in this adorable little girl. If I was able to take in another animal permanently I would totally keep this dog, she is just that wonderful and this is coming from a cat lady. Pippi is almost all done with her meds, just another week or two and she'll be right as rain. As soon as her antibiotics are done I will begin her vaccinations and if someone is interested in adopting her before then I would be willing to pitch in for those shots. She is seriously the best pup ever! She is almost five months old now and won't be getting any younger, who wouldn't want an adorable puppy that is super awesome?!

Here's a video of Pippi....please don't mind my incredibly annoying breathing and baby voice:

5/15 Update: Pippi is doing really well with her house training and has yet to have an accident! We also got the word from the vet that this will be her last week of antibiotics! She will be starting her vaccinations next week and I couldn't be happier.

5/21 Update: Pippi is officially all over her pneumonia and has been started on her vaccinations. Last night she got two of her shots, with three more to go. She really is a ray of sunshine too! Right now she is learning the basics of sit, and come, but she is very smart and catches on quickly (just like how to use a pee pad!). There are only two things that I would like to note (for full transparency): now that she is more comfortable in her home I have heard her bark exactly three times at hallway noises or my cats and we have been trying to correct that behavior (so she can be a good apartment dog and only bark when appropriate). Also the major item of note is that Pippi is AMAZING when she is on walks on nice green pathways with few people. She walks right by your side without pulling and is just fantastic, unless you are in a populated area. If you walk her on a normal street she will strain to enter the buildings or to get away from people. I am fairly certain this behavior stems from her life on the street and we are doing our best to work with her on this, she is not acting out, she is scared of people and will need someone who can be patient with her. Every animal has his/her story and Pippi is no different so don't let a little fear get in the way of an amazing life with this wonderful dog.

Update 6/18: Pippi is slowly working through all of her shots and she's scheduled to be spayed on the 6th of July. Now that all the hard stuff is out of the way does anyone want to come to see this pretty girl? I promise you'll fall in love.

Update 7/7: Pippi is officially spayed and only has one more week of shots to go before she's all finished with the puppy shots.

Update 7/13: Pippi is now almost fully recovered from her spay and she has had every shot so who ever decides they want this precious girl won't have to worry about anything other than yearly vet stuff.

Update 8/19: here's a new video of Pippi

What a sweetheart! Seriously, no interest?! She is young, easy to train the way you want and full of life and love to give! The video makes me want to pick her up and give her some serious cuddles! :)

Thanks! I can't stress how much I am against having a dog in my apartment but every day I just love her cute little face! She's such a great girl.

She is such a cutie. My dog was the same way when I got her - pulling on the leash to get away from people. She couldn't walk comfortably within 10 ft of a person. Now she is totally confident walking on a city street and very, very rarely tries to pull to get away from anyone. Dogs are amazing in their ability to overcome their pasts. I'm sure Pippi will shine if given the chance! :)

She is super adorable!!! I already expressed interest in another dog months ago, but if that doesn't work out, I will check back. I will be teaching at an international school in Seoul starting in August. I know it's a long ways away, but you never know. How big does the vet think she'll get? I put in for a pet friendly apartment, but no large doggies. So hard to look at this site full of little souls in need of love. :(

Oops...more importantly, is she good with kids? From the video, I assume so. She looks so timid.

She is just about full size right now (from what I believe), as for how she will be with children I really don't know. I think she would be just fine so long as she is able to become familiar with them first. She is scared of strangers but if you take the time to get to know her first she is fine. If she's still up for adoption in August please send an application :).

Thanks for your quick reply. I definitely will get back to you if the other one falls through. I too love that face! I use to have a terrier, and she totally reminds me of her. Also looks a bit like Benji with shorter ears. :) And thanks for being up front about the stranger anxiety. (I sometimes have that too. haha...) I'm sure with the appropriate love and patience, she'll overcome that. Probably a result of abandonment. Poor girl. :( You are very kind!

ADOPTED?! That's wonderful news! Who's the new family? :)

A wonderful Korean man from Seoul. I just got an update from him and she's doing just fine. Apparently her new owner is keeping her very busy.
