Description:

Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings. Well, the bells were a-ringin' the day Winston flew to Asan on his puppy wings! This angel was cuddled all day and didn't have to spend a single night at Asan, because, let's face it, you can't put an angel in a cold, lonely cage!

This is how Winston will greet you!

Winston is a wiggly 6-month-old puppy who looks like a Corgi/Pomeranian mix, and at only 4.1 kg, he won't be that big! He is a HUGE snuggler and is eternally happy. He spends most of his time smiling up at your with his long tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. His tail wags for everything! He loves people of all ages, dogs, and cats.

Here he is playing with my dog (don't worry, my dog makes strange Chewbacca play noises, she isn't growling):

Winston LOVES cats!

When he meets people he will snuggle up close to them and give them kisses. He plays well with my dog (a 2 year old Mini Schnauzer who is extremely energetic and can be prissy/intimidating) and he loves wrestling with my cat (a 6 month old Korean shorthair who is VERY playful and active). In fact, the 3 of them are like peas in a pod! They are ALWAYS together and they often play follow the leader! My dog will stand over him and play-growl in his ears, which he LOVES! My cat will climb onto chairs and then leap on top of Winston and pin him down with some Olympic quality judo moves, and he's all for it! Winston, as a puppy, is very curious about everything, and when he discovers something new, his tail wags and he looks up at you like he single-handedly discovered the New World. He loves playing tug-o-war and he seems to prefer the cat toys over the dog toys (his favorites are the crinkle balls and mice), and he LOVES crawling into the cat's crinkle tunnel!

Behavior and Training Potential
Winston is by far one of the easiest puppies I've had the pleasure of working with! He will look up into your eyes and just know what you want from him! He is very playful and active, like most puppies, but he is very special because he doesn't do any of the normal destructive annoyances most puppies do! He will ignore the expensive shoes you forgot to put away. He will poke his nose at your hands, asking for pets, instead of sinking his puppy teeth into your flesh. He thinks wallpaper is pretty and wouldn't dare try to destroy it. On a walk, he doesn't try to eat everything in sight, so when you take him hiking or to your favorite coffee shop, you don't have to worry about stopping every 5 seconds to pick something out of his mouth. He knows when it's play time and when it's time to rest, so when you want to be lazy, he'll just curl up at your feet, but when it's time to go, he's waiting at the door! It is as if he is wise beyond his 5 months!

Winston has that famous corgi intelligence! In the first 24 hours, he learned to sit before coming out of his pen. He learned that crying and whining and barking don't get him what he wants (he's remarkably quiet now). He learned that he can't chew on the cat's tail. He learned that pulling on my schnauzer's beard was unacceptable. The fact is, he just learns so easily! I have only been doing basic socialization and working on his manners, but I have no doubt he will pick up any training you throw at him because he already has a natural inclination for things: he likes to sit, he likes to lie down, he spins around, he watches you all the time, he follows the leader (whether it be me, my dog, or cat), he responds to noises I make, he isn't scared of new environments or experiences, etc. Basically, after all the tests I've put him through, I truly believe that you will have an easy time getting him to follow training cues because he is so happy to please!

Winston is currently learning about house training, but my schedule isn't conducive to this, so he also has access to a pee pad, and when he's inside, he will only use the pee pad. When I am gone, Winston stays in his puppy pen (one side is a bed, the other is the pee pad), and he is fine here. I don't have a crate for him, but have started using my own dog's crate for his crate training. Last night he slept in the crate and had no potty accidents inside the crate. Starting this week, he will stay in the crate instead of the pen while I'm away at work. This will help with his potty training, so he will begin to learn that he shouldn't go inside at all.

Medical
Winston is a super healthy puppy! All of the tests he has had have come back gloriously normal, which for a young pup who was at a shelter, is very uncommon, and that just further supports how special he is. Winston received his first set of vaccinations on Sat., Dec. 29, and his second set on Sat., Jan 12, and will need 3 more sets of shots (about 30,000 KRW/set) over the next several weeks. I have his shot records with the vial stickers. He also received Advocate (internal/external parasite prevention) on the 29th, and will need this again on Jan. 29 (once a month, year-round). Winston has great energy, a healthy appetite, normal urine/stools, and no signs of any communicable diseases (the incubation period for these has passed, so he's in the clear). He is currently eating Orijen Puppy food (about 250 g a day) and also gets an omega supplement. The day he came to my home, he was professionally groomed. He still has most of his puppy teeth, but they are starting to push out (although he doesn't have any teething behavior), so if he chews on something too hard, his gums will bleed (this is normal for any teething puppy).

In the near future, Winston will need to be neutered (this is a requirement if you want to adopt Winston). For a male dog of his size, this can cost 150-250,000 KRW, depending on the vet clinic and if there are any discounts available.

Basically, Winston is AMAZING! I would adopt him myself if I weren't leaving Korea soon and didn't have my own dog and cat!

Silly Winston tolerates even the noisiest play styles!

Winston had a play date with Leeloo and Panda yesterday. Even though Panda was less than welcoming, Winston was his usual playful and happy self!

Your videos make me wish my dogs would play with a toy, even just once! You'd think they'd figure it out from endlessly watching the cats chase around with toys but, no interest.
