Description:

Wonderful news! Darcy has officially been adopted! Congratulations Darcy, we will miss you, but we are sure you will be happy in your wonderful new home in France :D

*Update - September 19th*

Great news. A lovely couple has said they want to adopt Darcy! yay! I am currently in the process of working things out with them, and hopefully, in January, she will be flying off to France to be with her new family!

*Update - September 10th*

So, we rescued a kitten a few weeks ago who has since (very luckily) been adopted. Darcy played really well with her, it was lovely to see. She clearly loves anyone and anything that will take the time to show her love and attention. She was very tolerant of the kitten hiding around the house and pouncing on her, and even suckling on her! We even had a three way playing session between her, the kitten and Kyra, our yorkie. She is doing so well, I know that she is going to be a wonderful addition to any family!

*Update- August 26th*

Hi Everyone. I am very sad to say that Darcy is back up for adoption. This is through absolutely no fault of her own - this situation required us to keep her for a number of weeks while her prospective parents were on holiday and they never actually met her. I am not sure about their reasons for not wanting her anymore, but unfortunately, I guess this kind of thing often happens in rescue. She really is a fantastic dog and deserves a loving home that will appreciate her unique spirit. She is the most unassuming of any foster dog that I have ever had, undemanding and happiest when she is getting affection and love from those around her. Please consider her if you are interested in an AWESOME dog joining your family.

*Update-August 6th*

Darcy is getting better and better at playing with other dogs :).

*Update-July 11th*

Just some vids of Darcy playing :)

*Update-June 10th*

Hey guys! Good news, Darcy is currently in the process of potentially being adopted. Things are not 100% final yet, but I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that the adoption goes through without a hitch. The reason I am posting this is because it will be a number of weeks before the adoption is final, so who knows what could go wrong - hopefully nothing, but if there is one thing I have learned from Animal Rescue, it's always be prepared!

*Update-June 4th*

Despite a lot of interest, Darcy is still up for adoption... she just can't seem to get lucky :( Won't you consider this adorable pup as an addition to your family?

*Update-May 17th*

Beautiful Darcy is still available for adoption. I honestly don't know how she couldn't have found a new home by now - she is a wonderful wonderful dog!

*Update-April 15th*
Darcy does this really cute thing when she wants attention. She comes right up to you and stretches as if she is about to start doing yoga. And then lies absolutely still while she is getting affection. She is such an awesome little dog!

*Update-March 7th*
Hey guys and gals! Don't forget about beautiful Darcy! She is so wonderful! Her potty training is coming along, and she was spayed two weeks ago and bounced back almost immediately! She is such a sweet thing! She has basically stopped submissive peeing, which is a huge thing for her, and would make a wonderful addition to a family! Please consider her if you are looking to adopt an amazing dog!

*Update-February 4th*
So, I discovered yesterday that Darcy gets along well with cats. This pup continues to amaze me! We are also having her spayed at the end of February, and she is also getting fully vaccinated, thanks to BAPS!

*Update-February 2nd*
Hi everyone! I am Darcy's foster mom, and she is an amazing little dog. She is completely pee pad trained, and walks really well on the leash. Darcy's only small problem is that she is a super super submissive dog and because of this she tends to pee when she is frightened. She is very young and I am confident that in the near future she will over come all her issues and be an AMAZING companion. Darcy is a great playmate and enjoys playing with any dog or person around her. She is also huge on cuddling and affection, but she keeps to herself if you don't want her on top of you. Please consider Darcy as an addition to your family.

*Update-February 1st*
Darcy's foster mom will be taking over Darcy's profile soon so STAY TUNED for many pictures, videos, and stories straight from Darcy's foster parents!

*Update-January 15th*
Darcy is a beautiful little puppy. She is working hard on her training and will soon be the perfect companion! Her foster parents will only be able to have her til March so the sooner she finds a forever home, the better!

*Update-December 30th*
Darcy is staying with pet sitters as her foster parents are in South Africa. She seems to be having a great time! Darcy is a beautiful dog who loves cuddling and attention. She also loves crates, anybody's crate! She is still working on the pee pad training but she will get there soon!

*Update-December 17th*
Miss Darcy Bussel is doing so well in her foster home. Everyone is in love with her and she is really living the high life! She's working on the pee pad training but already mastered the crate training. She's lovely and sweet. She's such a puppy! She's loving her foster sisters and parents but she still needs a forever home.

Update* December 9th
Thankfully, Darcy went home with one of our long time volunteers. She will have 3 foster sisters, two of those have also helped train and socialize many other BAPS dogs. Darcy still needs her forever home though so if you are interested in this cutie, let me know! We had the new dogs on leashes today and let them walk around the shelter and Darcy was great on the leash. She loved playing with the other dogs!

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED!
This is Darcy. She is one of the 12 dogs of Christmas at BAPS! She just came from the pound last week (November 29th). Darcy is only 6 months old! Young puppies like her do not do very well in shelters. We are trying to get a foster for her as SOON as possible to get her out of this environment.

She is beautiful. She was willing to come right up to me when I opened the cage but was a little frightened when I reached towards her. When we sat together in the enclosure, she would run and run and run in a playful manner, exploring the whole place, but if I offered my lap, she jumped right in and snuggled. She really loved sitting in my lap and kept giving me sweet little kisses to let me know she appreciated me giving her attention!

From Leo, the shelter director,
"My personal FAVORITE! This little angel really touched my soul today. In the pound she was so scared to be put in the carrier, that she lost control of her bowels.. the poor baby was screaming in terror. (I had to wash my sandals, feet, coat, and hands after that) She travelled quietly, but once we were at BAPS, I literally had to take the carrier apart inside her new cage, because every time I tried to take her out through the crate door, she screamed.
Once I took the top off the carrier she cautiously came out.
Within the next hour she let us rub her face, play with her a little, and basically gave us her trust. A total angel who was obviously abused by someone, but still has a big enough heart to give other humans a chance... precious!"

Please help Darcy!!
Since she is a BAPS dog, anyone interested in fostering or adopting her will need to complete the adoption application (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application) and volunteer two Sundays in a row (from 11-3) at our shelter. For an adoption, one must complete a month long trial to make sure you and the dog are a good fit! You can visit the shelter page for more information!
She hasn't been vaccinated which means she can't go on walks yet, so I can't say anything about how she does on a leash.

*BAPS also has a sponsorship program. Anyone interested can give 200,000 won for a dog to have their full health check, be neutered or spayed, and get any necessary dental work. If you are interested in sponsoring Darcy Bussel, please let me know!

Please tell me more about how the adoption process works..I have been thinking of getting a puppy but rather than buying one, I became a member of this site and realize that there are sooooo many dogs in NEED of a good home that I have decided to adopt a pet that needs a forever home. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with how the process works and so I would appreciate any information that you may be able to provide. I am particularly interested in Darcy and feel she will be a welcome addition to my life as well as a companion for my dog Elmo who also happens to be a miniature dachshund! Please email me at [email protected] or call me at 010-3445-4430 (if I don't answer please leave me a text message!) Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Kim

Nice to hear from you. I will send you an email with adoption application. Basically the process is as follows:

Step 1 : fill out the adoption form - I know its long but the information is important, so please bear with us :)
Step 2: I will take a look at the application and give you call (hopefully we can have a Skype chat if you have access to Skype?)
Step 3: If all goes well and you feel that Darcy would still be a good fit for you, you need to volunteer at our shelter twice so that the owner can meet you himself. This is really to make sure that you are dedicated to the adoption process.
Step 4: After you have volunteered twice ( please note that we can make a plan for people who are from Seoul), then you can take Darcy home with you for a month's trial adoption. Should everything work out well, you can then formally adopt her as your own little darling :). The adoption fee is 100 000 which will be donated to BAPS so that they can take in another dog from the pound.

Anyway, I will send you an email and if you can reply to it soon, then we can get the process started. I know it may seem long winded and a little frustrating, but just remember, having a new addition to your family, one who is so in need of a good loving family, is so so rewarding :).

Oh goodness, the story of what happened to her when she arrived from the pound was absolutely heart breaking! People who treat animals poorly make me so angry! So wonderful that she found some love and a good home! Thank you so so much! I hope she finds her forever home soon! :)

Thanks, she really is an amazing little dog. I can't wait to see her settled in with a permanent family, I know that she is going to be loved wherever she ends up!
