Tim Tam (팀탐)

After living in the shelter for over a year, the waxing and waning of people interested in him, I'm so incredibly happy to write that TimTam has FINALLY found his forever home!!! Lucky TimTam has been welcomed into a wonderful home where he's receiving all the attention and cuddles a kitty could ask for. His new family took him to the vets for a health check and received some medication to help him clear his herpes symptoms and some heartworm preventatives. TimTam has already made himself at home with his family, no surprise there, and I'm looking forward to see how develops in a home/family of his own. Congratulations TimTam and heartfelt thankyous to Alicia for giving this gorgeous boy a home!

UPDATE: May 11

It was lovely as always to see Tim Tam today, basking in the sun as usual and lapping up the attention and care all too many volunteers lavish him with; a testament to his charms no doubt. Purring away today in the sunshine, Tim Tam's ears were cleaned, his nails clipped and his fur brushed, he was clearly pleased and content like the tubby little emperor he is. He still has the slight sniffles, most likely a symptom of the herpes virus, but with someone currently interested in adopting him, hopefully this will become a thing of the past in due time! Below are some photos I took of Tim Tam today. Fingers crossed people this sweet boy will be going to a home very soon!

UPDATE: March 16

Tim Tam is still waiting patiently at the shelter....Unfortunately, I have observed him lately experiencing some herpes virus symptoms, nasal discharge and sneezing, and no doubt this was from huddling together with other kitties who have it over the winter. Let's hope as spring breaks these symptoms will clear up since Tim Tam is one of the stronger healthier kitties at the shelter and seems quite resilient. But please don't let this deter you from considering in adopting him; the virus can be easily treated and is affordable and I can imagine it will clear up in no time once he gets into a warm stable home environment with a bit of TLC! Tim Tam is one huge cuddlebug, please consider opening your heart and home to this adorable boy!

UPDATE: February 16

Tim Tam forever continues to charm every new human he meets! Yesterday some very kind volunteers built some great sun lounges made with crates and blankets and Tim Tam was more than happy to test them out! I really love Tim Tam's easy going nature; he would be comfortable in a home that can provide him plenty of laps and a huge window for him to sun himself by. Please consider giving this handsome boy a forever home!

Poor Tim Tam will have to spend this holiday season at the shelter. I'm so surprised he's still waiting for that special family to come along and wisk him away from the shelter cold. UPDATE: November 24

Tim Tam is one cool calm cat. Now that Leo has moved into his own territory, it feels like Tim Tam has become a figurehead of sorts for the Asan cat colony! I have witnessed a few times him challenging a few particular cats but luckily has never resulted in any fights. Tim Tam is still his chilled out collected self, happy to sun himself and be non fussed about all the canine commotions going on around him in the rest of shelter. Always affectionate and lovely, Tim Tam would no doubt love a warm bed to share with someone this winter! Please consider giving this wonderful chap a home!

Introducing lovable Tim Tam!

This adorable guy is waiting so patiently at Asan shelter, longing for that special lap to curl up in and the right kind of legs to give affectionate head butts too! A former street cat, Tim Tam is a quiet, uber friendly, healthy tom cat who gets on well with cats and really thrives in human company. Very non fuss, mellow fellow. And as the weather turns cooler, I wonder and hope about the perfect winter bed that's out there for him! If you want a snuggler, look no further than Tim Tam.

Tim Tam is in great shape, is neutered and vaccinated and a general health check will be required once he leaves the shelter. Just a sidenote, previously there have been some cases of stomatitis ( like a feline gingivitis) and non fatal but highly contagious feline herpes virus in the shelter. Tim Tam hasn't displayed any symptoms of either and his oral health seems satisfactory but a more thorough check of his teeth is needed. There is a possibility stomatitis symptoms can develop in the future and thus require some dental treatment and care. Most cats that are exposed to an environment where stomatitis has occurred WILL NOT develop it, but some cats will, and a depressed immune system does seem to make them more likely to develop it. However, if by any chance this arises, there is a fantastic vet in Seoul who specializes in feline dental care we can refer you too!
