Jeju Municipal Shelter

Location: Jeju City - 제주

Previously governed by Jeju City, the Jeju Municipal Shelter is now run by the Province of Jeju and a number of improvements can be seen at the site. Despite having limited public hours, the shelter regularly has animals adopted from it's location. Stray, lost, or abandoned animals are held for 10 days for owner reclamation and then they are available for adoption. If the animals do not have issues such as aggression or illness they might be held at the shelter for weeks or months.

Before an animal is adopted they are tested for diseases such as distemper.

Adoptions are not on a first come first served basis. Instead, potential adopters draw numbers to see who will be able to choose a dog first as this is believe to make it fair.

The shelter requires documentation and paperwork must be filled out.
If you cannot read/speak Korean, please bring a friend who can.

Many amazing animals pass through this shelter, and only some of them find homes.

Please check out the link on the right for the weekly listings of animals brought to the shelter. ---->
